How to add Nookara login to your PenguinMod project
Nookara gives your PenguinMod project a real account system in a few blocks. Players sign in once with their Nookara account, approve what your project can do, and you get their username, profile, cloud storage and more - without running a server.
1. Load the Nookara extension
- Open the extension menu. In the editor, click Add Extension (bottom left).
- Add Nookara. In PenguinMod, pick Nookara from the extension gallery if it's listed. Otherwise (or in TurboWarp and other mods) choose Custom Extension, paste
https://ikelene.net/gallery/extensions/velora_extension.js, and turn on Run without sandbox - Nookara opens a sign-in popup, which sandboxed extensions can't do. - Done. The purple Nookara category appears in your block palette.
2. Generate a permissions integer
Every project asks for only what it needs. Pick the permissions (Nookara calls them scopes) on the permissions calculator - for example View Basic Profile and Project Auth - and it gives you a number. The Generate Permissions Integer button in the palette opens the same page.
3. Add the sign-in block
Put the sign-in block where you want the login to happen, like when the green flag is clicked or when a "Sign in" button sprite is clicked:
A Nookara window opens. The player signs in (or makes a free account), sees your project name and the permissions, and approves. The block waits until they're done.
Check how it went with the Boolean block below - it's true when the result matches (for example successful):
4. React when the player is signed in
Use when authenticated to start your game once you know who's playing. Nookara keeps the player signed in between visits, so returning players don't need to press anything.
5. Show who's signed in
client username is the fastest way to greet the player. get [KEY] reads a single field from their account, and get account object gives you everything your permissions allow as JSON.
Signing out and tokens
Tokens are tied to your project and the permissions the player approved, and players can revoke them from their Nookara account any time. Never show or save the token somewhere other players can see it - the developer docs explain the rules.
